Aims to find out incidence of childhood diarrohea and acute respiratory infections in children . To measure the outcome of these infectins immunisation and mother's iliteracy. To compare the morbidity due to acute respiratory infections in children vaccinated and non-vaccinated for measles . To give recommendations for improvement of child health. 23 children gave history of episodes of diarrhoea. Mean duration of diarrhoea was 2.8 days child. Malnutrition does not increase frequency of diarrohea but prolongs the duration of diarrohea. Acute respiratory infection and acute diarrohea disease in 101 children was moderately high . Those two conditions are still significant cause of childhood morbidity and mortality. The study reocmmended that the regualr health supervision of these children by paramedical staff of the hospital, should be undertaken. Immunisation coverage coupled with health education of mothers should receive more emphasis, for assessment of the nature trend of morbidity prospective study should be carried out by using outcome measure. |

Aims to assess the extent of implementation of the visit schedule. To assess the visit schedule of PHC training team and its operation. To assess the visit schedule of district training team and its operation. To assess the problem in implementing the visit schedule. To assess the problems in providing suppoortive supervision by supervisory tiers. The study of assessment strategy was conducted in only one primary health centre, kakori in the district lucknow. Since this study was restricted to only one primary health centre it was necessary to take the entire staff for study who are directly involved in the scheme. In this way, no sampling was necessary for medical officers, block extension educator, health supervisor and MPWsw. The data collected in the following methods; interview schedule , study of records and observations.The study shows that the orientation training programmes were conducted satisfacotirly , as most of the staff members at different levels were familiar with this new training strategy.The visit schedule had been prepared by the block extension educator, lady health visitors and female health workers and was found to be in order in relation to the guidelines probvided during the orientation training programme.However, the problems in implementaion of the new strategy calls for a comparative analysis between two blocks for assessing the impact of the new scheme. It would further be sueful to asssess the increase in demand generation as a consequence of this new strategy. |

Aims to identify the varous activities with reference to communication being carried our be block ecucators for educating health and family welfare programmes in two districts. To study the socio-economic cultural background of BEEs. To identify the various activities carried out by BEEs and to find out any variations to his job functions. To assess the level of communication knowledge and skill among BEEs. The study was conducted in districts of Gaziabad and meerut of uttar pradesh covering two block PHCs / CHCs of each districts and the areas under their juridiction . The community level respoondents enumerated in teh study comprised of two hundred adult males/ females in the reproductive age group from eight selected villages, twenty panchayati members/community leaders of teh eight villages considered in the study and ten mahila swasth sangh office bearers and members.According to udai pareek's socio-economic status scales, the five BEEs come in the category of upper middle class and remaining three fall in the middle class category.All the BEEs expressed that they faced problems in discharge of their assighed functions., due to non-availability of transport facility. Majority of the BEEs stated that they had no difficulty in organising health camps, preparation of maps and charts, conducting monthly meetings, coordination with NGOs and assisting medical officer incharge PHC in training of health workers. It was generally found that all the programme messages were intended to create an awareness mailnly for family planning, immunization and malaria followed by diarrhoeal disease and TB , blindness control and AIDS .The study recommended that athe vacant posts of block media officers need to be filled up expeditiously. The use of traditional and folk media had not received adequate impetus from the health delivery system. This media has lot of potential and being economical and within reach of tleh community and health workers is conducive to growth of social awareness in the areas. |
